How Liberals View President Trump

The Hijacked American Presidency

Every now and then we are going to have to do this: Step back from the daily onslaughts of insanity emanating from Donald Trump’s parasitic presidency and remind ourselves of the obscenity of it all, registering its magnitude in its full, devastating truth.

There is something insidious and corrosive about trying to evaluate the severity of every offense, trying to give each an individual grade on the scale of absurdity. Trump himself is the offense. Everything that springs from him, every person who supports him, every staffer who shields him, every legislator who defends him, is an offense. Every partisan who uses him — against all he or she has ever claimed to champion — to advance a political agenda and, in so doing, places party over country, is an offense.

We must remind ourselves that Trump’s very presence in the White House defiles it and the institution of the presidency. Rather than rising to the honor of the office, Trump has lowered the office with his whiny, fragile, vindictive pettiness.

The presidency has been hijacked.

Last week, when Donald Trump attacked two MSNBC hosts, people were aghast. The condemnation came quickly and from all quarters.

But his words shouldn’t have shocked. His tweet was just another pebble on a mountain of vulgarities. This act of coarseness was in fact an act of continuity. Trump was being Trump: the grossest of the gross, a profanity against propriety.

This latest episode is simply part of a body of work demonstrating the man’s utter contempt for decency. We all know what it will add up to: nothing.

Republicans have bound themselves up with Trump. His fate is their fate. They have surrendered any moral authority to which they once laid claim — rightly or not. If Trump goes down, they all do.

It’s all quite odd, this moral impotence, this cowering before the belligerent, would-be king. A madman and his legislative minions are holding America hostage.

There are no new words to express it; there is no new and novel way to catalog it. It is what it is and has been from day one: The most extraordinary and profound electoral mistake America has made in our lifetimes and possibly ever.

We must say without ceasing, and without growing weary by the redundancy, that what we are witnessing is not normal and cannot go unchallenged. We must reaffirm our commitment to resistance. We must always remember that although individual Americans made the choice to vote affirmatively for him or actively withhold their support from his opponent, those decisions were influenced, in ways we cannot calculate, by Russian interference in our election, designed to privilege Trump.

We must remember that we now have a president exerting power to which he may only have access because a foreign power hostile to our interests wanted him installed. We must remember that he has not only praised that foreign power, he has proven mysteriously averse to condemning it or even acknowledging its meddling.

We must remember that there are multiple investigations ongoing about the degree of that interference in our election — including a criminal investigation — and that those investigations are not constrained to collusion and are far from fake news. These investigations are deadly serious, are about protecting the integrity of our elections and the sovereignty of our country and are about a genuine quest for truth and desire for justice.

Every action by this administration is an effort to push forward the appearance of normality, to squelch scrutiny, to diminish the authority and credibility of the ongoing investigations.

Last week, after a growing list of states publicly refused to hand over sensitive voter information to Trump’s ironic and quixotic election integrity commission, White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders blasted the pushback as a “political stunt.”

But in fact the commission itself is the political stunt. The committee is searching for an illegal voting problem that doesn’t exist. Trump simply lied when he said that he would have won the popular vote were it not for millions of illegal votes. And then he established this bogus commission — using taxpayer money — to search for a truth that doesn’t exist, to try to prove right a lie that he should never have told.

This commission is classic Trump projection: There is a real problem with the integrity of our last election because the Russians helped power his win, but rather than deal with that very real attack on this country, he is instead tilting at windmills concerning in-person voter fraud.

Last week, CNN reported:

“The Trump administration has taken no public steps to punish Russia for its interference in the 2016 election. Multiple senior administration officials said there are few signs the president is devoting his time or attention to the ongoing election-related cyber threat from Russia.”

Donald Trump is depending on people’s fatigue. He is banking on your becoming overwhelmed by his never-ending antics. He is counting on his capacity to wear down the resistance by sheer force.

We must be adamant that that will never come to pass. Trump is an abomination, and a cancer on the country, and none of us can rest until he is no longer holding the reins of power.

I was struck by the tone of Mr. Blow’s article. Sure, I expected him to bash President Trump – Blow is a liberal and he writes for the New York Times, what else would I expect?

But Mr. Blow really takes his diatribe against Trump to new levels and, at the same time, reinforces what we have come to expect from the Times and the Elite Liberal Media.

They still haven’t recovered from Hillary (their Champion) losing to Trump (in their minds, a buffoon, and an idiot). They are, as we say, butt-hurt and no amount of Boudreaux Butt Paste will soothe the pain.

Mr. Blow’s piece really exposes the liberal media’s down-deep loathing of the president and displays the animosity that permeates everything that they write or say. They aren’t going to cut him any slack, and in fact, are continually searching for any little faux pas on which they can base their next full frontal assault. A good example is a Russian influence Mr. Blow refers to. NO evidence has been found AT ALL and even staunch liberals are confessing that the Russian thing is a “nothingburger.” Still, Mr. Blow persists – after all, what else does he have?

Following are a list of adjectives (and nouns) that Mr. Blow uses to describe the President and/or his actions. All of this in one relatively short article; he really went overboard. I’d be willing to bet that he’s never used so many derogatory terms to describe Adolph Hitler.

Insanity, parasitic, obscenity, devastating, insidious, corrosive, absurdity, whiny, fragile, vindictive, pettiness, vulgarities, coarseness, grossest, profanity, impotence, belligerent, madman, resistance, collusion, quixotic, abomination, cancerous.

Can you imagine ANY of those words EVER being used by Mr. Blow or the Times to describe B. Hussein Obama?

It’s pretty plain that Mr. Blow and his ilk won’t be extolling any of Trump’s achievements or successes anytime soon. Those, regardless of the magnitude or quantity, will be downplayed or totally ignored. They simply can’t afford for the president to be seen as successful and they’ll do anything (including report fake news) to make sure that he’s seen as a bumbling, doltish, fool.

Mr. Blow and the New York Times had best be wary. Millions of us see through their vile propaganda and want the honest truth, something that neither of them are familiar with. They may learn that they are becoming obsolete and therefore disposable.

    Charles Blow. Aptly named.

He is doing what he just said @POTUS is doing! That makes him mentally ill, paranoid projection is truly a mental illness when it goes to these lengths.

So much hatred that he leaves the realm of reality!

  2. Loose connections are drawn and then transformed into major stories based on a casual meeting between someone who knows Trump and someone who knows Putin. There’s an endless appetite for such stories on the left, not because of their content, but because they reaffirm the left’s conviction in Trump’s downfall.

They just share it on social media. That’s why the viral hit pieces are popular and profitable. It’s how the New York Times and the Washington Post found themselves in the black. And why CNN is suddenly in big trouble.

The dirty business of conspiracy theories is a dangerous one. It depends on walking a fine line by implying things without saying them out loud or actually stating falsifiable facts. That’s why Comey madness was so useful. But there was only so much mileage that could be gotten out of him. And as the media turned back to splicing together conspiracies about real people, the bell rang.

CNN’s hit team made their big mistake with Scaramucci. Trump is the one claiming the scalps.

Conspiracy theories die hard. Fake news is very profitable. But what happened at CNN should be a lesson to the rest of the industry eager to cash in on the irrational fear and loathing of the left.

Bottom line: The two titans of anonymously sourced Trump hit pieces, the New York Times and the Washington Post, are next.

And Trump will likely have a very positive G-20 junket. Certainly Poland will be a “YUGE” success, and . . . why do I imagine that the meeting with Putin will back fire on Merkel??

Someone should do an investigation because I think the aptly named Mr. Blow has stolen his material from conservatives.

    • Well done, CW! Mr. Blow’s disparaging comments about Trump do FACTUALLY apply more closely to B. Hussein Obama than they do to Donald Trump. But Blow is so blinded by his seething hatred for Trump, he can’s see past his own lying eyes.

  4. He not only went off on Trump, but on the half of the country that elected him!

The guy may be mentally ill if he thinks that is in any way persuasive. In fact, it might repel folks looking for a more even-handed evaluation.

I understand Project Veritas has goods on the NY Times, WaPo, more on CNN, and another MSM news organization. These destabilizing exposes will be released a couple of time a week, in Chinese water torture fashion. Apparently there were at least twelve embeds inside for over 6 months gathering the damning info.

If they think they’re butt hurt now, just wait!!!

    • You’re right, Curtis, he also insulted every person who voted for Trump. We all made a monumental electoral mistake – that implies that Hillary would have been the RIGHT vote. And I don’t know about you, but no Russian had any part in my vote for Trump – I don’t even care for Russian dressing.

  5. This guy is a real piece of…work. Obviously this is an opinion piece since there’s not a word of truth in it, but it’s sad to see that he’s so far left he can’t find anything good to say about our president.

I could go off on this guy for hours, but to say that Trump hijacked the election is a far reach (outright lie) when even Trump thought he’d lose to Hillary and all her illegal but overlooked shenanigans.

Crawfish is right – at least our complaints about O were in regard to actual violations and abuse of power.

    • It does display the extremes to which the butt-hurt elite media will go to make President Trump appear the way that they see him – however erroneously. They have to paint him as a buffoon, a dolt, and a caricature of himself so people won’t take him seriously. AND above all else, he CANNOT be seen as being successful – ANYTHING but that.

  6. Not a single item of substance. Just hatred and false accusations about Russia.

At least our opposition to Hussein was based on actual violations of the Constitution and other federal laws.

    • Good point, Craw. The things that we held against Obama were actual, factual violations of U.S. laws, not to mention the way he tried (and succeeded) in pitting blacks against whites. He diminished the U.S. in the eyes of the world since he neither dissuaded our enemies nor aided our friends. It’s my belief that his sole goal was to cut the U.S. “down a notch” because he thought that we were “too big for our britches.”
