As reported earlier Rachel Maddow stepped on a rake earlier this week by releasing Trump’s 1040 tax return form from 2005.
Rachel’s attempted hit piece enlightened the country that President Trump paid millions in taxes; he paid a higher tax rate than Socialists Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders.
The Hill, which is no friend of President Trump, reported last night that what Rachel did may be illegal – “Disclosing a taxpayer’s information without consent IS ILLEGAL.”
Now this…
Donald Trump’s private legal team is weighing a case against MSNBC and reporter David Johnston who fed the documents to Rachel Maddow. Specifically they were looking to make a case against MSNBC and reporter David Johnston. That’s what happens when someone breaks the law to get a story.

Since Trump refused to make his records public, Rachel Maddow thought she was going to a hotshot and show the world that he didn’t pay his taxes. But her plan backfired and proved he paid more, so there she sat with all that egg on her face.
No doubt Trump is angry about this, and who can blame him? In her pursuit for what she thought would be the big aha moment, she violated his right to privacy. Like other Dems she sees no shame in doing this, however, it’s going to cost them this time.
That Karma…and especially when Trump is involved, it seems….can be a real bitch.

There are a lot of puzzlements surrounding this story. You’d think that Madcow would have at least looked at the documents before she started all of the hype and seen that Trump had paid $38 million in taxes. If she’d done that she could have avoided the egg/face collision.
It’s not a bad bet that Trump “leaked” the return either except that I have to wonder why he hadn’t released it sooner – publically – it would have smothered at least some of the calls for him to release ALL of his returns. I’m suspicious about why he hasn’t released his returns – it’s obvious that there’s something there that he doesn’t want out in the open.

I’d love to see Rachel Maddow face legal consequences but I heard Judge Napolitano the other day say that she can’t be prosecuted for it, so I don’t know.
She was left with a whole lot of egg on her face, just when her star was rising. I enjoy that for now.

That’s a shame because she and the rest of the lefty media are in dire need of a smackdown. If you could find a link and share it, I would appreciate it. I’m not finding anything but I’d really like to know why Judge Nap thinks that and what it’s based on.

I believe he was on Fox & Friends when I saw him but I couldn’t find a clip on it, unfortunately. What I thought he said was that the person who actually stole the returns and gave them to reporters could be prosecuted but that the reporters themselves are protected from prosecution. It’s possible that I’m confusing the judge with someone else who said that but I could swear it was him.

Glad you found it and thanks so much for posting the link. What the judge said makes perfect sense and shows (again) how the truth gets so twisted in the headlines. It’s getting harder and harder to know which sites and which statements can be trusted.
I’m glad to know the truth, but sorry that Maddow & Co aren’t getting smacked down. That would have been fun to watch.
