To any political junkie who’s been paying attention, it’s hard not to notice that the fawning media and power brokers in Washington have been promoting Chelsea Clinton for bigger and better things, like political office perhaps?
When rumors started swirling after the election that Chelsea Clinton was considering her own foray into politics, it was met with eye rolls even from staunch supporters of the family.
I’ve no doubt that Bill and Hillary would like to see Chelsea continue in the family business (the crime-family business). Where else could an otherwise ordinary daughter be assured of notoriety and acceptance among the world’s elite while at the same time have an unlimited opportunity for financial windfalls, all based on nothing more than her parentage.
So far, I haven’t seen any evidence that Chelsea is a charismatic leader or an innovative political thinker, so what other reason could there possibly be to think that she’d enter politics? Am I crazy to surmise that she’s been bred and nurtured to be a politician – the family business?
Although the media gave her deferential treatment as a president’s daughter, she is now 37 and is still being treated like a princess. It’s as if they expect her to evolve into a formidable political figure and they’d like to maintain a friendly relationship and stay on her good side.
Since she was born, she’s been groomed for a career in politics. She received an education designed to impress voters, starting with the Sidwell Friends School, described as “the Harvard of Washington’s private schools.” (Yes, that’s the same school that Barack Obama’s daughters attended.)
Moving on to college, Chelsea earned a B.A. in history from Stanford and a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia (where she also taught graduate classes) as well as a PhD in international relations from Oxford University. Not too shabby, eh? History, public health, and international relations – a trifecta of issue credentials tailored for national office.
She’s maintained a role as an adviser and advocate inside the family’s political dynasty since leaving Stanford. Today, she serves as vice chair of the politically controversial Clinton Foundation, which has raised $2 billion since 2001. Chelsea herself is reportedly worth a paltry $15 million.
She’s been an advocate for women’s rights, AIDS research and global humanitarianism – all favorite issues of the progressive left. She’s been dipping her toes into the usual leftist subjects, always saying just the right thing. And none of it goes unnoticed by the fawning media.
There’s been scuttlebutt about Chelsea potentially running for Congresswoman Nita Lowey’s (D-N.Y.) seat in 2018 or even Kirsten Gillibrand’s senate seat (D-N.Y.) in 2020.
But when queried about politics being in her future, she replied, “Not now,” “I’m … grateful to live in a city and a state and a country where I really believe in my elected officials, and their ethos and their competencies. Someday, if either of those weren’t true and I thought I could make more of a difference in the public sector, or if I didn’t like how my city or state or country was being run, I’d have to ask and answer that question.”
The Hill has tweeted about Chelsea Clinton 70 times since late January – they tweet every story multiple times to make sure that they don’t go unnoticed.
She’s lamented Donald Trump’s “divisive, demeaning, degrading, rhetoric that should offend all of us,” and takes every opportunity to bash his latest tweet.
Politico declared that she “lets loose on Twitter” with a “spicy, sarcastic online personality.” And CNN recently noted that “Chelsea Clinton embraces her Twitter sass” as she tweets back something critical of the president’s agenda.
Another media outlet noted that “Chelsea Clinton has emerged as one of Donald Trump’s most relentless – and possibly formidable – critics.
And none of this is by chance.
With the 2nd consecutive loss by Hillary and Bill prevented from running again, Chelsea is the family’s last hope to continue the family’s presidential aspirations. It would be a shame to see their vast network of activists, apparatchiks, and donors go to waste. Bill and Hillary have cultivated a political machine, one that was supposed to create and maintain a permanent Clinton dynasty, not unlike the Kennedy and Bush dynasties. They won’t go down without a fight.
Chelsea may be smart, she may be informed, and she’s certainly educated, but according to many journalists, she’s one of the most boring celebrities of her era. One article dissected her robotic personality as “exceedingly, eyes-glazing-over-ly, admirably dull.”
She may have the pedigree, she may have the education, but she certainly doesn’t have the political chops of Bill Clinton. It remains to be seen is she’s inherited the criminal proclivities of her mom, Hillary.
Please God, spare the United States from yet another Clinton.

There are a lot of Americans who do love their political dynasties, that’s for sure. It doesn’t surprise me in the least that Democrats want to make Chelsea Clinton into something that she naturally is not. On the other hand, there’s a “Never Chelsea” movement going on in a faction of the Democrat Party lately. I suppose that’s the Bernie-supporter wing. Let’s hope they win that battle before they lose again to Republicans.

I just noticed that she’s in the news again today – just made the board of directors for Expedia. It must be gratifying for the stockholders of Expedia to know that someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Chelsea is watching over the company. Just another “resume enhancement” do-nothing-and-get-paid-for-it job. But she needs some elected office under her belt before she runs for POTUS.

With her education in public health and international relations, I’d hate to be stuck seated next to her at a dinner party or cocktail party. That coupled with her liberal views would make for the most boring conversation in the world. Or maybe a cat fight. BUT. It is the right education for a liberal destined to pursue a political career.
My guess is she waits a few more years until her kids are older and then she’ll toss her hat in the ring. She’s a Clinton – it’s in their blood.

If it were anyone else, I’d agree that the kids would be a reason to wait, but she is a Clinton and the kids really wouldn’t be an impediment if the political time was right. I believe that the nation’s First Crime Family is just watching the signs and gauging the way the wind’s blowing to know when the time is “right” for Chelsea to run – for whichever job they feel is winnable.
