Trump’s ‘First 100 Days’ To-Do List

Donald Trump 19

During an appearance in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on Saturday, Donald Trump laid out a long list of things he would do if elected president, and he vows to act on them in the first 100 days in office.

“On November Eighth, Americans will be voting for this 100-day plan to restore prosperity to our country, secure our communities, and honesty to our government,” Trump says. “This is my pledge to you and if we follow these steps we will once more have a government of, by and for the people and importantly we will make America great again. Believe me.”

If he can get even half of this list done, we’d be leaps and bounds ahead of where we’ve been for the past eight years, but honestly, don’t all candidates promise to fix everything? Since he’s not a textbook candidate, can we trust him any more than the others? See what you think of his list…

Here is the list of the “Contract with the American Voter” policies detailed by Trump:

  1. Propose a Constitutional Amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress.
  2. Institute a hiring freeze on all federal employees to reduce federal workforce through attrition (exempting military, public safety, and public health).
  3. Require for every new federal regulation, two existing regulations must be eliminated.
  4. Institute a five year-ban on White House and Congressional officials becoming lobbyists after they leave government service.
  5. Create a lifetime ban on White House officials lobbying on behalf of a foreign government.
  6. Institute a complete ban on foreign lobbyists raising money for American elections.
  7. Announce intention to renegotiate NAFTA or withdraw from the deal under Article 2205.
  8. Announce withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
  9. Direct Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator.
  10. Direct the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately.
  11. Lift the restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars’ worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal.
  12. Lift the Obama-Clinton roadblocks and allow vital energy infrastructure projects, like the Keystone Pipeline, to move forward.
  13. Cancel billions in payments to UN climate change programs and use the money to fix America’s water and environmental infrastructure.
  14. Cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama.
  15. Begin the process of selecting a replacement for Justice Scalia from one of the 20 judges on my list, who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States.
  16. Cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities.
  17. Begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancel visas to foreign countries that won’t take them back.
  18. Suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people coming into our country will be considered extreme vetting.
  19. Work with Congress on a Middle Class Tax Relief And Simplification Act. An economic plan designed to grow the economy 4% per year and create at least 25 million new jobs through massive tax reduction and simplification, in combination with trade reform, regulatory relief, and lifting the restrictions on American energy. The largest tax reductions are for the middle class. A middle-class family with 2 children will get a 35% tax cut. The current number of brackets will be reduced from 7 to 3, and tax forms will likewise be greatly simplified. The business rate will be lowered from 35 to 15 percent, and the trillions of dollars of American corporate money overseas can now be brought back at a 10 percent rate.
  20. Work with Congress on an End The Offshoring Act. Establishes tariffs to discourage companies from laying off their workers in order to relocate in other countries and ship their products back to the U.S. tax-free.
  21. Work with Congress on an American Energy & Infrastructure Act. Leverages public-private partnerships, and private investments through tax incentives, to spur $1 trillion in infrastructure investment over 10 years. It is revenue neutral.
  22. Work with Congress on a School Choice And Education Opportunity Act. Redirects education dollars to give parents the right to send their kid to the public, private, charter, magnet, religious or home school of their choice. Ends common core, brings education supervision to local communities. It expands vocational and technical education, and make 2 and 4-year college more affordable.
  23. Work with Congress on a Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act. Fully repeals Obamacare and replaces it with Health Savings Accounts, the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines, and lets states manage Medicaid funds. Reforms will also include cutting the red tape at the FDA: there are over 4,000 drugs awaiting approval, and we especially want to speed the approval of life-saving medications.
  24. Work with Congress on an Affordable Childcare and Eldercare Act. Allows Americans to deduct childcare and elder care from their taxes, incentivizes employers to provide on-side childcare services, and creates tax-free Dependent Care Savings Accounts for both young and elderly dependents, with matching contributions for low-income families.
  25. Work with Congress on an End Illegal Immigration Act. Fully funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall; establishes a 2-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence for illegally re-entering the U.S. after a previous deportation, and a 5-year mandatory minimum for illegally re-entering for those with felony convictions, multiple misdemeanor convictions or two or more prior deportations; also reforms visa rules to enhance penalties for over-staying and to ensure open jobs are offered to American workers first.
  26. Work with Congress on a Restoring Community Safety Act. Reduces surging crime, drugs and violence by creating a Task Force On Violent Crime and increasing funding for programs that train and assist local police; increases resources for federal law enforcement agencies and federal prosecutors to dismantle criminal gangs and put violent offenders behind bars.
  27. Work with Congress on a Restoring National Security Act. Rebuilds our military by eliminating the defense sequester and expanding military investment; provides Veterans with the ability to receive public VA treatment or attend the private doctor of their choice; protects our vital infrastructure from cyber-attack; establishes new screening procedures for immigration to ensure those who are admitted to our country support our people and our values
  28. Work with Congress on a Clean up Corruption in Washington Act. Enacts new ethics reforms to Drain the Swamp and reduce the corrupting influence of special interests on our politics.

voting-for-trump-defending-from-hillaryI’m wondering where this list was months ago – had he outlined such a plan earlier, it would have been much easier for voters to accept him as a more sincere and palatable candidate.

Just getting the members of Congress to go along with the very first item would be a great feat, but it will likely cut down on much, or maybe all, of the cooperation he will get from them. It will be interesting to see if he could get Paul Ryan & the House to be as generous with the checkbook as he has been with O.

Some of my favorites would be number 23 – cleaning up health care and the drug industry stranglehold, number 25 since the immigrants are breaking the law by simply being here, and number 27 – beef up our military and take care of our Vets. That would be a good start and God willing, we’ll see if we get to hold him accountable, instead of being drug through 4 more years of the unlawful misery the Dems continue to dump on us.

  1. He built his businesses by being the idea guy and gifted enough to hire the right people to keep him on track and going in the right direction. It didn’t always succeed as noted by several bankruptcies but has been successful as noted by his money count. Just saying …

  2. Color me EXTREMELY SKEPTICAL. Sure, I can embrace his list and if he really accomplishes even a small part of it, he’ll become a real hero to most of America, BUT, I think that it’s a laundry list that his advisors constructed that encompasses what most of the country’s voters want. It’s simply too ambitious and not really realistic to think that it’s possible for anyone, much less Donald Trump to get these issues front and center in 100 days.

For me, not publicizing this list earlier was primarily because his advisors hadn’t yet created it. There are only a few items that Trump has exhibited an interest in during the campaign so far and I doubt that he could identify even half of them in a general way without help or a teleprompter. Yes, they are laudable goals, I just wish I thought that they were HIS goals – based on HIS internal direction – and not just a laundry list created for public consumption.

    • I wondered too if it took them all this time to come up with the list, and you’re right, it’s a tall order just to get it partially completed.

With so few real conservatives in Congress, he’s going to have a tough time getting them to cooperate, particularly with the ones that affect their jobs. I hope we get to see it play out.

  3. I concur with your question as to where this list was two months ago, Kathy. I doubt it will get the attention he’s hoping at this point.

On #25 I would like to have seen a proposal to amend the 14th Amendment so that it ends the anchor baby problem once and for all. And while he’s getting Mexico to pay for the wall how about getting them to foot the cost of all additional Mexicans he’s going to put in prison for deportation violations?

    • I agree with your suggestion, CW, the anchor baby issue is a huge part of the problem and should have been addressed long ago.

I don’t see how Trump could force Mexico pay for any of this, but he could work to drastically reduce the aid we send them, which would amount to the same thing. That should have been done back when the border traffic increased a few years ago.

  4. I simply wonder how he has managed to build the business empire with his demonstrated apparent lack of ability to focus.

Many of the ideas are great, but he has not seriously considered the ramifications of most of them. Some overlap to the point that they eliminate or counteract prior ones, so it simply isn’t well considered.

Unless he somehow repels me, I’ll end up voting for him.

But, God!, I wish we had a Pence-Cruz ticket instead. They’d have won in a landslide of epic proportions!

    • My guess is he built his empire because he has good people in place. True, his ideas aren’t perfect, but they’re hands down better than the alternative, which would continue the divide in our country while she sells us to the highest foreign bidder.

  5. Excellent post ! If only the Donald would actually keep his pledge to do the things on this list, THEN we can have hope that he will actually lead the charge to “make America great again”. He’ll have to stay focused on the task at hand and not go off on tangents of defending his enormous ego.First he has to win the election. I’m holding my breath and keeping my fingers crossed.

    Good work, Kathy.

    • Thanks, Bobbie. Staying focused will be a huge task for him, or maybe we should say a huge task for his people to keep him on track, because those tangents of his are way too frequent.

It’s a great list and all those things need addressing, so I’ll hoping and praying over here too. With every election, we hear the overused phrase ‘this may be our last shot’, but this time, it literally could be.

  6. Kudos Kathy, and yeah it would been nice (much better) had he posted this list months ago. But I have to assume had he done so then he’d’ve been giving out strategic info on the scale as the dem.tards giving out their plans of attack to the enemy to make their own plans to attack back.
I like everything on this list and hope he’ll put in place, or position, folks who be key to keeping him focused on carrying these tasks in timely manner that would work without clogging up the efforts.
And it is too difficult for myself to make suggestions of priority to start off with, but he’d better be aware of the intensity of opposition he’ll be facing.
I hope to hear how far reaching this posted listing of 1st 100 days is going to circulate and how raw the damnocratic outrage is going fester.
Trump, you’re gonna need more than good luck. I hope you’ll be asking for prayers and GOD’s blessings.

    • Thanks, WT. You’re right that he didn’t want to give away his plans too early for the Dems to either steal and say it was their idea or to have them pick it to pieces for months.

It would be hard for me to prioritize all of them too, but if it were me, I’d start with shutting down the incoming refugees asap.
