Report: Evergreen Protesters Roaming Campus with Baseball Bats

From:,  by Tom Ciccotta,  on Jun 6, 2017

Protesters at Evergreen State College are reportedly roaming campus with baseball bats, according to photos and videos circulating on social media.

Professor Bret Weinstein, who has received calls for his resignation after he refused to participate in what the New York Times called “a day of racial segregation,” has shared video and photos allegedly of Evergreen students roaming campus with baseball bats.

Weinstein claims that he warned Washington Governor Jay Inslee about the security issues at Evergreen, but it is unclear if Inslee returned Weinstein’s message.

The College Fix reports an administrator from the college released a memo instructing students to get rid of the bats immediately.

Dear RAD Students,

We are aware of a small group of students coordinating a community patrol of housing and campus. We acknowledge and understand the fear and concerns that are motivating these actions. We also understand that these students are seeking to provide an alternative source of safety from external entities as well as those community members who they distrust.

Community patrols can be a useful tool for helping people to feel safe, however the use of bats or similar instruments is not productive. Some members of this group have been observed carrying batons and/or bats. Carrying bats is causing many to feel unsafe and intimidated. The bats must be put away immediately in order to protect all involved. Non-students participating in this activity are advised to leave campus.

Another video allegedly shows a student roaming the campus with a baseball bat. (1:40 mark).

Riddle me this: what possible reason can these students have for prowling the campus with baseball bats? Think they’re looking for a pickup baseball game? Not likely. Who might be the targets of their ire if they stumbled onto such a person/persons. Perhaps Professor Weinstein? Unsympathetic white people? Regardless, nothing good can come of this armed posse looking for trouble.

To illustrate just how far over the edge these Evergreen idiots have pushed, even The New York Times and Huffington Post have crucified the students (and administration) for their antics.

Maybe there is hope for some semblance of reason to survive when even progressive media flagship outlets have had it with the idiocy that has permeated Evergreen College. One could probably spend a full day reading various author’s takes on Evergreen. The week’s activities have become a symbol of what’s wrong with our universities by exposing the results of what happens when they become hotbeds of liberal indoctrination instead of purveyors of education.

I’ve seen enough to believe that a reference to Evergreen College will no longer be a beneficial educational notation to have on one’s resume and in fact, is more likely to be a detriment.

Parents whose hard earned money is paying for (at least part of) their “education” there must feel cheated that their son or daughter will leave Evergreen without a diploma that represents a value in the employment marketplace, but instead may be a millstone preventing their hire. I know that as an employer, an Evergreen reference would be a cause for concern rather than a proof of educational achievement.

As many have said, “hoist with their own petard,” how fitting.

  1. Take a good look at the photo, because the ones who don’t die from drug overdose will be our next generation of college professors and Democrat politicians.

This is what too much public money and too many liberal administrators will get you: a bunch of reverse Neo-Nazi clowns who are dangerously emboldened by their pathetic, liberal enablers.

    My suggestion is this:

Let them have their “day without white people,” but don’t stop there. Make their cleansing complete by letting them have “a school without white people’s money.”

  2. From the first picture on this blog post it seems college is only a place to go to be weird. Weird with a capital W.
I was surprised when my grand daughter started college. The amount of time they are left to themselves for studying and other activities is astounding. And the courses are mostly mush.

I think colleges and universities are turning out mushy brained weirdos.

Who’s going to hire them? Probably colleges.

    • You’re probably right, tannngl. I have concerns about my granddaughter who graduated high school this past Monday and will start at Oklahoma University in the fall – at least – I hope that O.U. is more conservative than those other leftist schools.

  3. This is the result of caving to their demands. Tolerating this behavior will only empower students at other universities. Expel these students, fire the administration that allowed this and cut the funding to the school.

    • You’re spot on, Kathy. The only good that is coming out of this lunacy is that even the leftist sites are bitching about the inmates running the asylum – they’re NOT on board with the student’s activities.

  4. You have these activist which from what I understand are mainly BLM roaming around not wanting white’s on campus but yet you see tons of whites walking with them encouraging them
    How do you justify that

    • Those must be whites with confidence issues. They’re hoping to be accepted by the blacks as an equal because they “fought the fight together.” They’ll be jettisoned just as soon as they’re no longer needed.
