Will Wilkinson at Vox insists there are no reasonable arguments to be made that radical Islam poses any threat to the United States or Western civilization.
Wilkinson compares the military budgets and economic strengths of the United States and its NATO allies with those of the nine top-spending Muslim-majority countries, pointing out that the West has the obvious advantage.
Do you know what a “straw man” argument is?
Well, you just saw an example of one. The concern about Islam “invading” the U.S. isn’t about a military threat; it’s about a covert ideological invasion that brings with it the threat of Muslims eventually demanding incorporation of Sharia Law into American life.
Our Constitution and Sharia Law cannot co-exist. They are diametrically opposed to one another in several important areas and since the United States is a constitutional republic, the Constitution is our supreme law.
Sharia is in direct conflict with the constitution and our Bill of Rights. Each requires adherence to its precepts and only one can serve as a country’s supreme law. Sharia Law has no place in the United States.

Authorities in Hamburg, the second-largest city in Germany, have begun confiscating private dwellings to ease a housing shortage — one that has been acutely exacerbated by Chancellor Angela Merkel’s decision to allow more than two million migrants into the country in recent years.
In an unprecedented move, Hamburg authorities confiscated six residential units in the Hamm district near the city center. A trustee appointed by the city is now renovating the properties and will rent them — against the will of the owner — to tenants chosen by the city. District spokeswoman Sorina Weiland said that all renovation costs will be billed to the owner of the properties.
In November 2015, lawmakers in Berlin considered emergency legislation that would have allowed local authorities to seize private residences to accommodate asylum seekers. The proposal would have authorized police forcibly to enter private homes and apartments without a warrant to determine their suitability as housing for refugees and migrants.
Let me get this straight, Angela Merkel encouraged more than 2,000,000 migrants to come to Germany and now, to accommodate them, some cities are seizing privately owned housing – confiscating private structures to house the excessive influx of people who can’t support themselves and are homeless.
Who could have seen this coming? (A rhetorical question)
We should be wary of something similar happening here. Barack Obama was hell-bent on bringing “refugees” from Muslim countries her by the thousands. They were supposedly being persecuted in their home countries (like Syria), but what of Christians being persecuted in those countries? He didn’t seem to be interested in them.
Just compare the ratio of Muslims invited to come here with the number of Christians. In 2016, Obama admitted 12,486 Muslims and 68 Christians. Where did his priorities lie, with Muslims or with Christians?
The United States was founded on and has remained primarily a Christian nation since its inception, wouldn’t Christians assimilate more easily? And they are being persecuted mercilessly in Muslim countries. Wouldn’t it make more sense to bring in a greater number of Christians?
We need to be vigilant about what’s happening in Europe. It appears to be a preview of what would likely occur here if we are “invaded” by masses of Muslim “refugees.”
