Trump and the Tax Return Demand

So Democrats want to see Donald Trump’s tax returns?  Here’s my question for Democrats:

How does it feel to want?

Because I suspect you’re about to find out.

I would like to make a formal motion that henceforth Republicans learn to flat out reject the demands of the insincere and untrustworthy (i.e. Democrats).  There is never anything to gain from trying to appease these people and there is always something to lose, which is precisely the reason for their demands.  I only wish that instead of resorting to his usual strategy – i.e. lying and obfuscating – Trump would live up to his non-PC reputation and simply declare that his tax returns are private and will remain so.  Next question?

For any liberals out there who want to feign moral indignation over Trump’s refusal to share his tax returns, my response to you is:   LOL.

LOL because you didn’t care about the thousands of emails deleted by Hillary Clinton when she was ostensibly working for us as Secretary of State.

LOL because you shrugged and said “Whatever!” when we learned that Bill Clinton had a clandestine audience with Loretta Lynch while his wife was the subject of a high profile investigation by the Justice Department.

LOL because you chuckled when the genius Barack Obama ridiculed Mitt Romney for his concerns over Russia, then kept your big mouths shut when it turned out Romney was right (as did Obama, not surprisingly).

LOL because you said nothing when Obama was caught surreptitiously whispering to Dmitry Medvedev to tell Vladimir Putin he would have “more flexibility” after his election, and now you want us to believe that you are sincerely concerned about Russian influence.

LOL because you forced a radical, leftwing, lawless president on us and the rise of Donald Trump is the consequence of that.

You want his tax returns?  Tough luck.  How does it feel to want?

  1. LOL because we have been asking for 9 years now for Mr Obama’s records from school, passport, selwctive service, etc. and you have told us it is none of our business.

  2. Righteous, CW, righteous. It’s our time now.

  3. That was funny! But so true. I said the same thing about Russian interference, now they know what it is like to go up against an unfair media. What was even funnier was Maddow’s show over Trump’s 95 tax return.

    • Hey there, Patrick!

Yeah, you’d think the lefties would learn after the Maddow fiasco but the weasels are very determined to find something to smear Trump with and the tax returns promise a wealth of possibilities (no pun intended!). One can only imagine the hysteria the sheep could be worked up to with snippets of financial information that they don’t understand.

  4. LOL!

Gawd, CW, I was cracking up while reading your column. Well done!

I couldn’t agree more. WTH would Trump gain by releasing those records? Not a damned thing, that’s what. The criticism would change from “he won’t release them!” to whatever other BS they could find to gin up the old faux sanctimony outrage machine about.

Trump’s returns have been audited by the IRS. He hasn’t been charged with violating tax laws. As far as I’m concerned that’s as far as any LEGITIMATE concern goes. He’s “clean”. Res ipsa loquitur.

As to the left: Screw ’em!

    • Thanks, Brian.

I’ve never yet seen a situation where the Left has demanded something from a Republican – whether it be information or an apology for some professed wrongdoing – where the Left has then said, “Thanks for that. We feel better now.”

  5. ^^ What Saltwater said. LOL because they’re too stupid to realize that their very own lefty site star, Rachel Einstein Madcow already showed them to her audience But then, you have to pay attention in order to pick up on these things.

I second your motion, but that won’t stop the Rs from trying to appease them.

Charlie Daniels had a great response when he said “I’d a lot rather see Hillary’s deleted emails than Trump’s tax returns.”

    • They want all the returns, Kathy, because there’s bound to be something they can twist into a scandal if they can just get their hands on enough pages of returns.

I agree with Charlie Daniels, and so did a lot of other Americans it seems; but I’ll be honest. As much as I would love to see Hillary’s emails, the content of those emails wouldn’t sway my opinion about Hillary even if they turned out to be completely innocent. She’s a leftist and I don’t like leftists, period. Trump was a threat to the leftwing agenda, that’s really what their problem with him is. The tax returns are just a red herring.

  6. There is a definite parallel between Obama’s personal documents that he kept hidden from the public and Trump’s tax returns. Neither sets of records were required to be released and honestly, the calls for release of said records was/is because the opposition expects to find politically damaging information in them. Trump should always have expected to produce his tax records, but now either he just says “no” or (my preference) he makes release predicated on the release of Obama’s medical, citizenship, and education records.

    • The other parallel is that both Trump and Obama were elected despite their failure to provide the requested information. As long as they can get sufficient support from their voters they can’t be held accountable to anyone else.

You hit the nail on the head when you said: “because the opposition expects to find politically damaging information in them.” That’s exactly what the goal is, and I find that game to be dumb and destructive. Both sides should stop doing it and be honest about what their real objections are. We’d all be better off.

  7. Jealousy abounds.
That angry little man on MSNBC touted illegally obtained Trump tax returns, proving — horror of horrors — Trump is really rich, and paid more in taxes (amount and percentage) than any of those demanding more access to his records.
Perhaps it is time to ask, “What do they really want to know, and why?”

    • “What do they really want to know, and why?”

They want to get their paws on the details of Trump’s returns because the average person, and especially the liberal sheep, don’t understand the complexities of the finances of the wealthy and just about anything can be twisted into a scandal. That’s the only possible interest they could have, although they will falsely claim that they’re making sure Trump isn’t in the pocket of the Russians.

The one return touted by the “angry little man on MSNBC” ( 🙂 ) showed that Trump made a bunch of money and paid a bunch of taxes. Did that change the minds of any Democrats? I rest my case.
