FBI Director James Comey wrote a letter to 16 members of the House and Senate on Sunday stating that the Bureau will not change the conclusion it made in July, following an examination of newly revealed emails found related to the Hillary Clinton probe.

“Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton,” FBI Director Comey wrote.

The investigative team had “been working around the clock to process and review” emails found on former New York congressman Anthony Weiner’s laptop — using a program that only targeted the emails to and from Clinton’s closest aide, Huma Abedin, within the time when Clinton was secretary of state.

The news comes after the FBI announced it would review a new batch of emails that appeared to be “pertinent” to the investigation that was suspended in July which had looked into Clinton’s use of a private server.

Multiple federal sources told NBC News the emails were found as a part of an ongoing probe into Weiner’s alleged illicit communication with an underage girl.

On the Clinton campaign’s plane, spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri said she was “Glad to see” Comey affirmed the conclusion reached in July and that the “matter is resolved.”

NBC News has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.

In the FBI’s review of the thousands of emails on Anthony Weiner’s laptop, a senior law enforcement official confirmed to NBC News that nearly all were duplicates of emails seen by the team investigating Clinton’s server.

Although some emails did forward documents previously identified as containing classified information, it did not change the total number of classified documents investigators found on the server.

There were unseen emails, the official said, but they were unrelated to government business.

This letter indicates that the FBI’s review is completed. Neither Comey nor the FBI are expected to release any other statements.

Y’all will probably agree that without a doubt, this is the most infuriating headline we’ve ever read, and here’s the key element in this piece –

“using a program that only targeted the emails to and from Clinton’s closest aide, Huma Abedin “

Granted, there’s much I don’t know about FBI investigations, but it seems like a complete waste of time if their search was limited to only those emails, when there’s likely much more in that laptop that could prove the case.

What was the point of Comey reopening this case if after what must have been 48 hours of intense reading for his agents, this is the conclusion? He had to know there was damning information in the additional emails found on this laptop, and several experts stated that there must be vital information in them for him to take that step. Dozens of FBI agents worked around the clock the entire weekend, only to end up right back where they started.

Basically the FBI has dismissed her secret server, her lies to Congress, her obfuscation, her misrepresentations of Comey’s conclusions, her destruction of hard drives and phones, and on & on. Anyone who thinks the FBI will ever recommend indicting the Clintons isn’t paying attention. Comey is as dirty as the Clintons, O and the DOJ and he’s sullied his entire department. If those agents had ideas of going rogue, they better hurry up. They have about 24 hours left.

  1. The corruption of the Justice Department, which directs the FBI, is complete. As a result no prosecutor in that DoJ would prosecute her, because they are corrupt.

By limiting the search to Huma A., they limited the scope of the inquiry, which led, Surprise!, to no new violations. Since prior clear felony violations, by action and deliberate intent, were swept under the rug by her privilege, nothing new, means no change in status.

Now one of the FBI agents suspected as a leaker died by announced “murder suicide”.

The question now is whether the supposed 100s of FBI agents and the NYPD who have threatened to break this out into public will actually risk their lives to do so.

The Republic is at stake. Plain & simple!

    • Comey’s lack of action have proven that there are indeed two sets of justice – one for the Clintons and one for the rest of us. Americans are angry and see him as taking sides and this effect spills over onto the agents within the FBI.

Comey went too far with this. Instead of analyzing the information, presenting the facts and then bowing out of the picture, he went so far as to give us his prosecutorial assessment – not his job. He should have dumped this in Lynch’s lap and kept the FBI out of it. The net result would have been the same, but the FBI would have kept their good reputation intact.

  2. Twitter tweets say it’s amazing Comey’s FBI took a year and a half to review 30,000 emails and now have taken about a week to review 650,000 emails.
Additional hopefuls hope. Hope that the FBI is really focusing on Clinton Foundation. Otherwise, “we are in deep trouble’.
I know we are in deep trouble.
And Comey? I think he’s trying not to die falling down the stairwell of his building.

    • The problem with focusing on the Clinton Foundation, is that the same guy is in charge of that investigation too. It’s doubtful any worthwhile action would come of that either. Sorry to pop that balloon, but we are indeed in deep trouble.

  3. The term “adding insult to injury” comes to mind here. His reputation was already shot, now, with this new revelation, it’s even worse. I do believe one thing though, that the most recent letter announcing the revisit of Hillary’s investigation did more damage to her that won’t be entirely erased by this “do-over.” It’s roughly the equivalent of Emily Litella (Gilda Radner) saying, “Never mind.”

    • I hope you’re right, but one of the contributors on Allen West’s site reported that after this was announced, the Vegas odds went back to favoring her to win. Of course, if that’s anything like the polls we’ve been seeing, then they’re not to be believed either.

This election is between the daughter of Satan and a rich egotistical guy who’s decided he can fix us. Maybe he can, maybe he can’t, but we know what she’ll do, so all we can do at this point is pray, vote and hope he wins. And hope he brings a fleet of backhoes with him on day one, so he can get rid of all the garbage in our government
