Netanyahu’s UN Address Much Different than President Obama’s Speech

During his speech at the United Nations, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu slammed the international body as a “moral farce,” and referred to one UN agency as a “joke” and another as a “circus.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, the U.N., begun as a moral force, has become a moral farce,” Netanyahu declared.

He stated: “Year after year, I’ve stood at this very podium and slammed the U.N. for its obsessive bias against Israel and the U.N. deserved every scathing word. For the disgrace of the General Assembly, that last year passed 20 resolutions against the democratic state of Israel and a grand total of three resolutions against all the other countries on the planet. Israel: 20, rest of the world: three.”

The Israeli leader condemned the U.N. Human Rights Council, which routinely singles out Israel in biased resolutions; and the Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which in April approved a resolution ignoring Jewish ties to Jerusalem’s Old City and the Temple Mount. The Mount is Judaism’s holiest site.

“And what about the joke called the U.N. Human Rights Council, which each year condemns Israel more than all the other countries of the world combined,” Netanyahu stated. “As women are being systematically raped, murdered, sold into slavery across the world, which is the only country that the U.N.’s Commission on Women chose to condemn this year? Yep, you guessed it, Israel.”

“Israel, where women fly fighter jets, lead major corporations, head universities, preside, twice, over the Supreme Court, and have served as speaker of the Knesset and prime minister.”

“And this circus continues at UNESCO. UNESCO, the U.N. body charged with preserving world heritage,” he continued. “Now, this is hard to believe, but UNESCO just denied the 4,000-year connection between the Jewish people and its holiest site, the Temple Mount. That’s just as absurd as denying the connection between the Great Wall of China and China.”

Netanyahu took the occasion to invite Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to come and “speak to the Israeli people at the Knesset in Jerusalem.” Abbas has repeatedly refused Israeli offers to commence negotiations aimed at creating a Palestinian state.

Netanyahu reiterated his positon that an Israeli-Palestinian deal can only be reached through direct negotiations and not imposition of a UN resolution. “The road to peace runs through Jerusalem and Ramallah, not New York,” he said.

Regarding the UN’s mistreatment of Israel, Netanyahu stated, “The sooner the UN’s obsession with Israel ends, the better. The better for Israel, the better for your countries, the better for the UN itself.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, one message for you today: Lay down your arms, the war against Israel in the UN is over,” he said.

The change will happen in this hall because back home your governments are rapidly changing their attitudes toward Israel, and sooner or later that’s going to change the way you vote at the UN,” he told UN representatives.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech shows what a real leader is supposed to sound like when addressing the UN. He stands up to the UN and defends his people & country.

Compare that to O’s speech in Garnet’s post yesterday. He  would prefer the US to submit to world government, and insists that he’s right despite what Americans want or think.

We sure could use a man like Netanyahu, instead of a president who is an international embarrassment.

  1. Yes, Kathy, the contrast between Netanyahu and Obama could not be clearer. One man loves his country deeply, and is willing to speak the truth for the sake of his people despite the personal risks while the other person loves only himself and never puts his skinny neck on the line for anything else. And in further demonstrations of his sacrifice for the sake of his country, Netanyahu will humble himself when he thinks it’s for the good of his country as evidenced by his last televised meeting with Obama where he showed great respect and kindness to a man that he must, by all logic, deeply despise. Obama has never seen fit to be personally humble for the sake of his country, although he will willingly throw Americans under the bus any day of the week if it will earn personal political gain for him. One is a man. The other is a snake.

  2. May GOD be continued to be blessed by the leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Even still, may GOD be blessed by the in-your-face evil that long-list-of-cuss-words we have excremating the position of POTUS in apology and submission to counsels created for redolving issues not regulating which rights which countries will be able to live subjected to.
I gotta leave it alone there for now.
    But, Thank You Bibi.

    • I hear you, WT. Sometimes you just have to walk away. If we can survive just a few more months, then maybe somebody with some gumption can start an unapology tour & retract all the garbage this sewer mouth has spewed for eight extremely long years.

      • If there is real Karmic justice, there is one thing that will haunt Obama for as long as he lives – he will be jealous of Bibi. Deep inside, he knows that Bibi is a respected leader of a nation, in fact, respected around the world (not including Islamic Jew-hating countries) and Obama knows that he is not. He’ll never admit it to any living being, but he knows that Bibi outranks him and he is a pipsqueak in Bibi’s eyes and I hope that it eats him up inside.

  3. I’ve said it many times before and I’ll say it again – if I had my way, Netanyahu would be OUR president instead of that anti-American empty suit that is Barack Obama. Bibi feels more patriotism towards the United States than Obama, and as Kathy said, he’s a REAL leader unlike our Islam-favoring, Christian-bashing, unAmerican half-black traitor who is occupying our White House.
