Marine Has a Few Choice Words for NFL Commissioner

From Col Allen West, 9-17-16:

Folks, I do not need to add a single word to this…other than it came to me through a retired military email network. You need to read it.

I’ve been a season pass holder at Yankee Stadium, Yale Bowl and Giants Stadium.

I missed the ’90-’91 season because I was with a battalion of Marines in Desert Storm. 14 of my wonderful Marines returned home with the American Flag draped across their lifeless bodies. My last conversation with one of them, Sgt Garrett Mongrella, was about how our Giants were going to the Super Bowl. He never got to see it.

Many friends, Marines, and Special Forces Soldiers who worked with or for me through the years returned home with the American Flag draped over their coffins.

Now I watch multi-millionaire athletes who never did anything in their lives but play a game, disrespect what brave Americans fought and died for. They are essentially spitting in the faces and on the graves of real men, men who have actually done something for this country beside playing with a ball and believing they’re something special! They’re not! My Marines and Soldiers were!

You are complicit in this!

You’ll fine players for large and small infractions but you lack the moral courage and respect for our nation and the fallen to put an immediate stop to this. Yes, I know, it’s their 1st Amendment right to behave in such a despicable manner. What would happen if they came out and disrespected you or the refs publicly?

I observed a player getting a personal foul for twerking in the end zone after scoring. I guess that’s much worse than disrespecting the flag and our National Anthem. Hmmmmm, isn’t it his 1st Amendment right to express himself like an idiot in the end zone?

Why is taunting not allowed yet taunting America is OK? You fine players for wearing 9-11 commemorative shoes yet you allow scum on the sidelines to sit, kneel or pump their pathetic fist in the air. They are so deprived with their multi-million dollar contracts for playing a freaking game! You condone it all by your refusal to act. You’re just as bad and disgusting as they are. I hope Americans boycott any sponsor who supports that rabble you call the NFL. I hope they turn off the TV when any team that allowed this disrespect to occur, without consequence, on the sidelines. I applaud those who have not.

Legends and heroes do NOT wear shoulder pads. They wear body armor and carry rifles.

They make minimum wage and spend months and years away from their families. They don’t do it for an hour on Sunday. They do it 24/7 often with lead, not footballs, coming in their direction. They watch their brothers carted off in pieces not on a gurney to get their knee iced. They don’t even have ice! Many don’t have legs or arms.

Some wear blue and risk their lives daily on the streets of America. They wear fire helmets and go upstairs into the fire rather than down to safety. On 9-11, hundreds vanished. They are the heroes.

I hope that your high paid protesting pretty boys and you look in that mirror when you shave tomorrow and see what you really are, legends in your own minds. You need to hit the road and take those worms with you!

Time to change the channel.

Yeah, what he said – it’s time for the Commissioner to take a stand or we change the channel. It’s disgusting to watch these athletes disrespect this country (by disrespecting our flag) that’s provided them with such opportunities they would never get in another country. If they want to bring attention to the nonexistent black oppression, they need to find another way and do it on their own time, not when they’re on the clock.

  1. I’m planning on watching Monday Night Football tonight, but if I see any actions indicating disrespect by any of the players, I’ll switch it off and watch NCIS on Netflix instead. I generally watch multiple NFL games in the Thursday through Monday time-frame, but I’ll quit watching any (except the Cowboys) and go cold turkey if I see any more sitting or kneeling during the national anthem.

Well, I just watched the national anthem and saw several black players with raised fists. That’s enough, I turned it off.

    • I’ve been seeing a lot of comments from other people, both male and female, along the same line, Garnet. People are sick of seeing some of these guys getting paid the big bucks while they disrespect our country for whatever reason, and most of them are seeing it as an offense to our military. How long until the NFL realizes a few bad apples could cost them mega dollars…

  2. It won’t make any difference, sad to say.

Too many of the institutions in this country have completely caved to what used to be referred to as “political correctness”, but what can now be more accurately termed as leftist fascism and tyranny.

Part of the problem is that we on the Right AREN’T a problem. By that, I mean that when leftist groups get upset they go on the rampage. Think Black Lives Matter, the Occupy assholes, people like that. They get their panties in a wad and then start burning things down, or “demonstrating” and blocking traffic, or rioting.

When we get upset what do WE do? We write letters to our local newspapers… maybe.

Until there are some REAL consequences, and by that I mean things that are going to hit them in the wallet like successful boycotts, nothing’s going to change.

    • For all the rioting and demonstrating the lefties did, what good did it do them? They curried favor with Queen Hillary, who promptly forgot about them the minute the conversation was over.

I don’t think we need to get all riled up, but we sure could do away with about 99 percent of this PC garbage, and for my nickel it should start with some of the sports organizations like the NFL, etc. The responsibility shouldn’t belong to us alone. They sure don’t mind gouging the players with fines when it suits their purpose, so they could dang sure demand that they show their allegiance to this country as part of the deal.

  3. Awesome letter, Kathy. I can’t imagine anyone saying it better.

Every true leftist loves nothing more than a captive audience so that they can flatter their giant egos with the notion that millions of people care what they think.

The NFL should have a rule: No stand, no play. Then we’ll see how long the teams will continue to be willing to pay for athletes who choose politics over playing.
