Here Be Dragons – Bill Whittle

Afterburner with Bill Whittle

Bill Whittle explains what to expect in the 2016 elections.

In his latest video, Bill Whittle offers a calm, reasoned analysis of the 2016 election so far. Although he doesn’t give any easy answers, he does a great job of allaying some of the anxiety many of us are feeling.

Whittle opens by describing how ancient map makers would mark uncharted waters with the words “Here be dragons” and carries the metaphor through his breakdown of an election unlike any in recent memory.

Starting with the Democrats, Whittle talks about Hilary’s email scandal and the ongoing FBI investigation. What will happen if she is indicted? No one knows. Could Biden step in? Will Democrats actually nominate Bernie? He points to the tech worker who was recently granted immunity and suggests that could be evidence of something bigger on the horizon.

On the Republican side, Whittle addresses the possibility of a brokered convention. What happens if the GOP denies the nomination to Donald Trump even if he’s the leader? What will Ted Cruz do? No one knows.

He addresses Trump’s high negative ratings but reminds us Hillary holds second place in that category. He also points out that Republicans have voter enthusiasm on their side while Democrats don’t.

Trump has done well with minority voters and appeals to many Democrats but at the same time has alienated many conservatives.

What does all of this mean for the 2016 election? Here be dragons.

Hazmat Suit

As usual, Bill Whittle boils the current unsavory political mess down to 7:14 worth of tasty tidbits. How the nation will navigate these uncharted electoral waters in the coming months is anybody’s guess, though Bill does warn us of the peril the country faces when we are finally forced to confront those menacing dragons in November.

Many of us are in the distinctly uncomfortable position of being forced to pick one of two evils we’re likely to be faced with – with the thought that neither will be good for the country. Unless things change, holding one’s nose will no longer be sufficient, a full-body hazmat suit (complete with respirator) may be required to vote.

  1. Love your hazmat suit analogy, Garnet!

Bill Whittle is a gem! I’ve been associated with him for a good while, Citizen Producer, PJTV member, and BillWhittle.com.

But, Aye, matey! Keep a weather eye, me lad, for there be dragons out there, for sure!

    • Bill’s videos were a regular feature over at ‘Nox & Friends where I’ve spent the past couple of years as a contributor. He’s always a source of intelligent, reasoned thinking and presents his ideas clearly and simply. He’s a gem.

You know, every now and then I try to do some intellectual soul-searching to make sure that I’m still on the right track. This analysis gets triggered when someone that I previously respected comes out for Donald Trump. I ask myself, “am I missing something?” But then I watch another several minutes of a Trump rally or interview and it only reinforces that I simply can’t understand how a reasonably intelligent, logical, politically aware person can believe Trump’s BULLSHIT.

It’s definitely going to take a full-body hazmat suit if I have to vote for Trump.
